PlanePit keeps the records for a privately owned plane. Photograph the Hobbs after a flight, or let your phone record it, and the log fills in. The aerodrome brief checks the coming days' weather against your plane's own limits. We are in beta, so things change often and some screens are still rough.
What it is for
Most owners spread a plane's hours, fuel and oil across a paper logbook, a spreadsheet and a few chat threads. PlanePit keeps one log per plane and fills most of it from things you already do after a flight, like taking a photo of the Hobbs.
Social features come later. We plan a map of owners, posts, and a way to reach someone who flies your type, built on the same planes and logs and always optional. The tools have to be worth using on their own first.
The tools
One log per plane for flights, fuel uplifts and oil top-ups, with the Hobbs as the source of truth. Send a photo of the meter and PlanePit fills in the hours, date and airports for you to check. You can also import GPX tracks or log from the Telegram bot. The plane page shows flown tracks on a map, monthly hours, and fuel and oil burn per engine hour. The whole log exports to CSV.
See the journey logThe Android app records from before engine start to after shutdown. The server then builds a report for the flight with engine RPM, the run-up and magneto drops, bank and ball in turns, and each landing's speed, g and sink rate. Over the months these add up to engine trends for the plane. The app is not on Google Play yet. If you want to try it, write to us.
Ask for the appEach aerodrome has a public page that paints the next five days hour by hour as go, marginal, poor or no-go. It scores three weather models, METAR and TAF against your plane's limits for crosswind, wind, cloud, visibility and daylight. It covers a few Latvian aerodromes for now.
Open the briefEach plane carries its flying limits, an engine profile (power, RPM, cylinders, propeller) and the next maintenance, due by date or Hobbs. Add other pilots by email and everyone logs to the same plane. When someone else flies between your entries, a gap entry keeps the Hobbs continuous.
